Time Club - a new musical

A stylised hourglass, the profile of a face visible in the sand that's draining

I love musicals, I love time travel, I love a high-concept story. So in 2020 I combined them all to write, compose, workshop, direct, etc. etc. a one-act musical set in a world where time travel is a controlled substance that can only be accessed in licenced venues.

I got the opportunity to workshop “Time Club” with the talented Musical Theatre students at the University of Winchester in early 2020, and managed to perform a shortened version just before something something happened in March 2020 you may have heard of which halted further development.

The performance at the University of Winchester was a great success, with comments such as:

"People will want to see it more than once"

"It has a clear message without being preachy"

"Thought-provoking"

"Loved all the songs!"

And I’m sure more wonderful feedback which in the excitement of seeing my vision come to life I forgot to write down.

Also very impressive, a very cool student called one of my songs a “bop”.

Here’s an extract from the opening number:

Honestly one of the greatest achievements of my life and I still plan to give it more of a life, even thought that first momentum was paused in Spring 2020.
